ISSUE:
why LLDP neighbour discovery from network switch is showing e0M MAC address for pgc06n03a & pgc06n03b e0e/e0f/e0g/e0h.
Analysis:
From network device-discovery show :
e0e pg122d-j28edr11.png.intel.com (00:04:96:9d:d5:02) 12 -
From switch end lldp show :
pg122d-j28edr11.png.intel.com.3 # show lldp neighbors
12 D0:39:EA:2B:C8:EF e0e 121 29 pgc06n03b
As you can see the port e0e is connected to correct switch name but from switch end, it was'nt showing the e0e mac address, instead it shown the e0M mac address.
pgc06::> system node run -node pgc06n03b ifconfig e0M
hwaddr d0:39:ea:2b:c8:ef
No cabling issue observed as they connected to the right port on right switches
Ask:
As per the finding, customer we noticed only model FAS8300 shown this kind of behavior which 10g data port (e0e/e0f/e0g/e0h) connected will show you e0M mac address for that node while rest of the models (FAS8200/AFF-300/FAS80X0) are showing the correct mac address.
